Emergence is a series of eight botanical paintings exploring transformation, healing, and the experience of becoming.

Created during a period of profound personal change, the series grew from my own experience of moving through loss, physical transformation, and a return to creativity. I began looking to the natural world for a language that could express what I was experiencing: seeds waiting beneath the soil, caterpillars surrendering to metamorphosis, roots growing unseen, ferns slowly unfurling, flowers blooming late, and landscapes regenerating after fire.

The paintings were created sequentially, and together they trace a journey from realization to sanctuary. They are not about becoming someone entirely new. They are about uncovering what was already there.

Emergence is ultimately an exploration of what can happen when we allow one season of ourselves to end, trust what is growing beneath the surface, and make room for what wants to bloom next.
